Flying Carp

May 5th is the boys day in Japan and carp streamers are set to wish for their boys' happiness. In Japan, carp is regarded as a symbol of good success from the Chinese legend, that a carp swims up the waterfall and changes into a dragon.
I found these big streamers flying in the blue sky.

Against Blue Sky

Recently, dogwood trees are popular for street trees in Osaka and I can enjoy pink and white blossoms. My favorite is the white one against the blue sky, like this.

Floral Friday Fotos

Today I visited Kenninji Temple in Kyoto, which is famous for its huge ceiling painting of two dragons in the main hall. However, today's treat was beautiful peonies surrounding the main hall, like this.

Thursday Challenge "Reflection"

Taken at the lobby of Hyatt Regency Kyoto. I was fascinated with this space. To me the harmony of the blue painting, the nice vase and the lights is perfect.
This is part of Thursday Challenge.  This week's theme is Reflection.

Cherry Blossom #13

Today I enjoyed passing through the Mint Bureau under cherry blossoms with my friend. Japan Mint in Osaka is famous for its late blooming double-blossom cherry trees.

Ruby Tuesday 2

These young guys are dancers who were going to the plaza just in front of Kyoto City Office to participate the event. Their costumes really caught my eyes.

Cherry Blossom #11

We had strong wind and shower these two days, and most petals are gone. Still some remain and we can see some different kinds of cherry blossom from now. Of course, many other flowers come out. Yes, spring has really come around us.

Cherry Blossom #9

This is Hirano Shrine in Kyoto, where we can see many kinds of cherry blossoms. Can you see the differences of colors and shapes?

These two pictures are Nijo Castle. I tried to record falling petals, but it was hard for me and my camera.
